Abstract

In order to solve the existing manual system problem, we developed Mobile Financial Application System (MFAS). MFAS solution automated and computerized the manual process flow, errors are eliminated, reduce redundant manual work, paperless, generate report for decision making and increase data accuracy. Due to the PPC resource limitation such as processor, RAM and storage limitation, MFAS with conventional development approach; without applying Component Based Development (CBD), Multi Tier Design and HCI design concept will utilize 100% of the Pocket PC (PPC) device resources. This make MFAS slow in respond, easy hang and no multitasking. CBD advocates developing software systems by selecting reliable, reusable and robust software components and assembling them within appropriate software architectures. Multi Tier architecture is logically and physically separated by layers; presentation layer, business layer logic and storage layer. This thesis will point out the major issues to design, implement, deploy the PC development methodologies into PPC and explain implementation of architecture into PPC can enhance the application and optimize the performance of the system. Conclusion of this study is this is only a very first step to migrate all the high end development methodologies into PPC. We need to have more development with PPC other than PC and server because PPC have become a trend for most of the end user and also more affordable nowadays.
