<p>Polycrystalline hexagonal Li<sub>2</sub>WO<sub>4</sub> was sintered at temperatures between 400 and 698&deg;C. After sintering at each particular temperature, the Li<sub>2</sub>WO<sub>4</sub> pellet was cooled to room temperature and the electrical conductivity variation with temperature was then investigated between 99 and 650&deg;C. The plots of electrical conductivity versus temperature exhibit two different slopes, implying that the Li ions have activation energies of differing values in different temperature ranges. X-ray studies indicate the absence of two peaks at 2&theta; = 12.380&deg; and 17.100&deg; from the diffractograms of the sintered samples, and DTA studies indicate a phase transition at about 640&deg;C.</p> <!-- articleText -->
